-Press Release, February 2004
Our progress with issues surrounding snowmobiles in Yellowstone Park has taken a number of twists and turns. The latest update is that, despite administrative efforts to promote snowmobiling in the park, a visitor-led recovery is taking place. More visitors are opting to take snowcoach tours and fewer are choosing to ride snowmobiles. With significantly fewer snowmobiles, the Park is becoming healthier, with less air and noise pollution. Yellowstone is again becoming a great place to visit for a quiet winter experience. This page will keep you up to date as each new chapter of this critical story unfolds.
