About the Backcountry Film Festival
The Backcountry Film Festival is a collaboration of filmmakers, corporate partners, athletes and environmental grassroots leaders dedicated to gathering and engaging the backcountry community. The Backcountry Film Festival promotes the work of grassroots filmmakers who tell compelling and entertaining stories of backcountry human powered recreation and environmental preservation, climate change issues, or snow culture.
Submission Instructions
Your film should be short— around 3 to 20 minutes —and tell an authentic story of backcountry, human-powered recreation or environmental preservation. Submissions must be in either a digital download format or on a DVD mailed to our office by September 1, 2018.

Provide the following information:
- Filmmaker Name
- Link to an online screener
- Short Synopsis
- Film Length
- Your Contact Info + Backup Contact Info (for y’all who live off the grid)
- Film shots in jpeg format (300dpi preferred)
Additional Information
Submission is free. We prefer 16:9 aspect ratio at HDTV 1920×1080 square pixels. Submitted films should either be in English or include English subtitles.
Winter Wildlands Alliance is a national nonprofit organization promoting and
preserving winter wildlands and a quality human-powered snowsports
experience on public lands.
