Gather your friends and family and join us for this evening volunteer project! Winter Wildlands Alliance is partnering with our friends at Outdoor Alliance Montana and the Custer Gallatin National Forest to pull knapweed in the South Fork of Brackett Creek.
Come join us to give back to a treasured outdoor space. With its close proximity to Bozeman, the South Fork of Brackett Creek is a much loved and heavily-visited backcountry skiing area. In the summer it also offers trails for hikers and mountain bikers, and access to climbing on the limestone cliffs of Ross Peak and Wolverine Bowl. With its plethora of options for both on and off-trail adventure it is a year round destination for multiple users groups. This is our opportunity to give back to the places we play and love. Weed infestations are a major concern in the Bridgers – we will be pulling and bagging knapweed to help get this problem under control.
The is an evening project on Wednesday June 27nd. We’ll meet at 6:00 pm at the South Brackett Trailhead (click here for directions). We will be out until approximately 9:00 pm but you can leave earlier if you need to.
Please bring snacks, water, and layers. Also, if you have work gloves or a shovel please bring those too. The Forest Service will have some gloves and shovels for folks to borrow but the more the better!
