Winter Wildlands Alliance loves Idaho. Sun Valley is where we were founded. Bogus Basin is where SnowSchool began. The Treasure Valley is where we’re headquartered. Boise is where we’ve premiered the Backcountry Film Festival for the past 15 years. The Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forest is just one example of where we’re currently working to protect Idaho’s snowy spaces we recreate. The photo above is from our most recent Hut Trip in the Sawtooths before the world turned upside down.
We recognize Idahoans and folks around the world are experiencing major shifts in physical, mental, and financial security. And while we’ve closed our downtown Boise office so our team can work remotely, we continue to tirelessly work for wild spaces, the backcountry, human-powered winter recreation and all of our other important programs. What we do goes on 365 days a year and we rely on our supporters like you to keep us going.
One way our home state can support us is through Idaho Gives. This year, Idaho Gives is a virtual, two-week fundraising celebration of all Idaho nonprofits instead of an in-person, one-day event. Your support and involvement in raising awareness and funds are crucial to continue our pursuit to preserve the human-powered backcountry experience.
If all of our Idahoan subscribers gave $10, we’d raise just over $20,600! For each giving level above $35, we’ll send you a thank-you gift!
If you are not able to support financially at this time, email us and let us know why you care about our work. We’ll gladly share all the ways in which you can get involved with what we do from any angle.
Out of state and still want to contribute? You can definitely do so! Idaho Gives is about supporting Idaho non-profits and donations are welcome from any and all states.
If you should choose to provide support to Idaho nonprofits it’s important that you understand how you might also benefit Under the new CARES Act, if you take the standard deduction on your 2020 tax return (filed in 2021), you can claim a brand new “above-the-line” deduction of up to $300 per person ($600 for married couples) for cash donations to charities you make this year. This deduction can be taken regardless of which tax bracket you fall in.
