July 8, 2026 — It is with profound sadness that we share the sudden and unexpected passing of our Executive Director, David Page, who died alongside his beloved dog Rio, following a tragic car accident on Teton Pass in Wyoming earlier this week.

To know David was to know his boundless energy, his uncanny wit, and his love of adventure. He was a zealous backcountry skier, a passionate advocate for wild places, and someone who believed deeply that meaningful progress begins with open dialogue, curiosity, and collaboration. He was also a fearless leader and gifted writer whose words invited people to see winter landscapes with greater wonder and purpose. 

Above all else, David loved his family and was a devoted husband, a proud father, a dog lover, and a friend to so many. His kindness, integrity, and deep sense of purpose touched countless lives, both within our organization and throughout the outdoor community.

As we grieve this tremendous loss, our hearts are with David’s wife, Allison; his sons, Jasper and Beckett; his family; and the many friends, colleagues, and community members who knew him.

David’s legacy will live on in the winter landscapes he loved, the public lands he worked tirelessly to protect, the words he wrote, and the community he helped build. We remain committed to carrying that work forward in his honor.
