The U.S. Forest Service Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit (LTBMU) has begun the planning process to designate routes and areas for over-the-snow vehicle (OSV) use in the Lake Tahoe Basin. This process will update the current LTBMU Snowmobile guide and take a comprehensive look at access, parking, and motorized and non-motorized winter recreation opportunities.

As part of the pre-scoping process, the LTBMU held three informational open houses in order to provide the public and interested stakeholders an opportunity to provide feedback for the Winter Travel Management plan and accepted a first round of written comments through May 2.
