Snowpack Prediction Contest
Can you make an accurate prediction about the amount of snow we will have at the Sonora Pass SNOTEL Station on the Stanislaus National Forest this year? Send SnowSchool your prediction and you could win the prize (your choice of a SnowSchool hat or water bottle)! The closest prediction wins! Make sure to include a valid email address. Winners will be announced in the spring and a snowpack science wrap-up video will be provided to all participants.

Specifically, SnowSchool wants to know your prediction for the maximum snow pack depth and snow water equivalent measurement that will be observed over the course of the winter at the Sonora Pass SNOTEL Station (in the Stanislaus National Forest).
Having trouble remembering the definition of snow water equivalent? Big name, simple concept. Imagine if you instantaneously melted all the snow sitting on the ground at the Sonora Pass SNOTEL station, well the depth of the melted water sitting on the ground would be the snow water equivalent. Its the same thing as snow water content, and this link provides a good explanation.
