WWA board and staff recently gathered on our hometown mountain in Boise, Idaho, to reaffirm mission, passion and our way forward. We would like to celebrate our board members who are terming off and charting new courses as well as our current board members stepping into new roles of service for wild winter!

Boundary Waters Mineral Withdrawal
The US Forest Service (USFS) recently released a draft environmental assessment (EA) for a proposed 20-year ban on sulfide-ore copper mining, called a “mineral withdrawal,” on 225,504 acres of federal lands and minerals in the watershed of the Boundary Waters.
